I’m a person who would rather “be the story” then put my story on paper. However, when I was asked to write my vocation story, I jumped to the opportunity because I am anxious to share the happiness that I have found, serving our Lord, in Carmel with others. My religious vocation didn’t begin with me. The first hint that God had something special in mind for my family was back in the 1970s. From a respectable Protestant family, my grandmother decided to pursue a degree at a Catholic college. Her studies ended in her conversion, which in turn resulted in the conversion of my grandpa, my mother who was 16 at the time and my aunt. One summer afternoon as I was feeling rather happy I went downtown to take the entrance test for the seventh grade when all of a sudden I noticed a convent across the street.
